In re: [Biblical Paths] Andriake in Lycia: Ancient Jewish Temple Found

I commented on Stephen Smuts article entitled Andriake in Lycia: Ancient Jewish Temple Found:

Almost certainly Professor Çevik means to say that he found an ancient synagogue and not an ancient Temple.

From Biblical and extra-Biblical sources we know of Palestinian Temples to Yahweh in Jerusalem and Shechem, Egyptian Temples to Yahweh in Elephantine, Heliopolis and Leontopolis, and a Babylonian Temple to Yahweh in Casiphia.

At Antalya the Judean population in the 3rd century would have consisted almost entirely of Greek-speaking converts that practiced some form of Hellenistic Judaism and that did not exclude followers of Jesus from the community.
